Strike Mandate Results
I want to extend my sincerest thanks to all who participated in the recent CANSA strike vote, which concluded at 9AM EST on Wednesday April 10, 2024. Your active involvement is crucial to our collective bargaining efforts.
We are pleased to announce that 260 out of 279 members voted (an impressive 93% participation) with a decisive 95% majority voting in favour of authorizing a strike should negotiations with the employer fail to reach an agreement.
This result demonstrates a strong mandate from members to pursue our demands for fair wages, staffing practices, scheduling of hours of work, and job security due to planned contracting out.
Your support empowers us to stand firm in our negotiations, ensuring we achieve the best possible outcomes for our members. Your bargaining team is committed to keeping you informed every step of the way and are dedicated to representing our collective interests at the bargaining table.
