In the matter of the interest arbitration between Nav Canada and Unifor 1016, Arbitrator Tom Hodges released his decision today, April 20, 2018.
A number of issues were given to the Mr Hodges to decide but the primary ones were wages, overtime and premiums.
Increases are effective:
July 1, 2017 – 4%
July 1, 2018 – 3%
Overtime:
Effective July 1, 2018
All overtime, paid or banked, at a double time rate
Shift Premiums:
Effective July 1, 2017
Evening increased to $1.82/hr
Midnights increased to $3.75/hr
Weekends increased to $2.50/hr
OJI Premium:
Non operational will increase from $4.25 to $7.75
Operational will increase from $8.50 to $12
Staffing:
Transfers (relocations) suspended for the balance of this agreement
Pay Scales:
2 new steps will be added to the left of each level
Steps 1 to 5 become steps 3 to 7
The new step 2 will be established 3% below the new step 3 (old step 1)
The new step 1 will be established 3% below the new step 2
ATT0:
ATT0 pay ($35,512) for new hires will apply for the first 90 days of OTS and AIM employees
There are 18 other changes that were agreed to before the mediation-arbitration process that are also included in appendix “A”. These include:
