UNIFOR Local 1016 Tri-Annual Convention Delegates
UNIFOR 1016 Local Union Executive Board is pleased to announce the upcoming 2018 convention to be held in Niagara Falls, ON
Convention will be held on October 26-28th with travel on the 25 and 29th as required.
Each region is entitled to 1 delegate for the first 25 members or portion thereof, and an additional delegate for each additional 25 members or major portion (13 members) thereof.
This year’s elections will allow for 1 member for each of the following regions: Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto, Montreal, Moncton, and Gander. The Ottawa Region is eligible to send 3 delegates this year.
In addition to the elected delegates based on the above criteria, Jim Walker President and Greg Phalen Financial Secretary will be in attendance with voting rights. Christine Cassey Executive Vice President will be in attendance with voting rights as the Recording Secretary for the Convention. Scott English Elections Chair will be in attendance as Convention Chairperson with no voting rights.
Eligibility to stand and vote: Any UNIFOR Local 1016 member in good standing, who has been an ATT for at least one year, may stand for the positions. However, any UNIFOR Local 1016 member in good standing, regardless of years of service, may vote for the positions.
Nominations: Open Monday June 11th 2018 to Friday June 22nd 2018 at Noon EDT.
Any eligible member may nominate a delegate candidate by email to the Elections Chair at Electionschair@UNIFOR1016.ca and must also cc the candidate.
Acceptance: Candidate acceptance must be received by the Elections Chair by June 22nd at Noon EDT.
Elections: Will be completed on Simply Voting Website from Monday June 25th 2015 to Friday July 06th 2018 at Noon EDT.
Results: Will be announced on July 09th.
