COVID-19 Update - Work From Home Directive

COVID-19 Update Work From Home Directive

To further implement precautionary measures to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, basic training for CATCA and ATSAC will be suspended for a month. Nav Canada is in the process of determining what non-essential employees will work from home. OTS employees will either be asked to perform other duties if available from home or will be on paid leave.

Non-essential employees are expected to work from home, completing their normal work for their regular pay. Managers will work with employees to ensure they are properly equipped to work from home. Nav Canada is asking for your patience as equipment is made available. If non-essential employees are unable to complete work from home, they will be placed on leave with pay.

These measures comply with public health recommendations being issued across the country and will also help to protect our essential employees who are not able to work from home.

Essential employees will report to their working position as scheduled.

Please continue to be vigilant in your efforts to limit the spread of infection. Continue to wash hands often and thoroughly, keep your hands away from your face, and cover your nose and mouth with your elbow when coughing or sneezing. Keep as much distance as the position allows. Wipe down shared workstations whenever you take over as time allows.

Remember, no one should enter their workplace if they are experiencing symptoms of the flu or COVID-19. Contact your manager if you are experiencing these symptoms.

I know that many of your families will be affected by temporary school closures. Managers should be reaching out to affected employees immediately, if they haven’t already done so. Please contact your manager to discuss if alternative arrangements are possible.

CANSA continues work in close coordination with Nav Canada’s Emergency Management Response Teams at the National and Local level. Nav Canada’s Emergency Management Response Teams continue to meet on a regular basis to keep everyone up to date.

If you have any questions, contact your Local Manager, Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) or request information through your Local RVP.
