Bargaining Statement

 

When we started bargaining almost a year ago, my opening statement to Nav Canada was:

 

What is the CANSA Negotiation Team asking for? They are asking for Nav Canada to invest in the membership and the work they do.  Ensure they can provide critical support to operations and training.  Allow Nav Canada to recruit, train, and retain a dedicated team that will help Nav Canada thrive in a group of ATS providers.

 

After making that statement, I then went into details on the roles of our groups to them.

 

My statement to Nav Canada has not changed. Nav Canada should be working towards fostering a positive, dedicated, and respectful workforce. This will ensure that its most important asset, the employees, thrive as they move forward with their strategic plan to meet future goals of modernization, fulfilling stakeholders needs and maintaining one of the safest ANS in the world. Nav Canada should be investing in their employees like they invest in their technological assets.

 

Black Shirt Day

 

I want to extend my sincerest thanks to all who participated in the recent CANSA Black Shirt Day to commemorate 300 days without a collective agreement. Your active involvement is crucial to our collective bargaining efforts as it sends a message to Nav Canada that we are united in our cause. They could see how united you were and the support flowing in from the other Nav Canada Bargaining agents. Your support empowers us to stand firm in our negotiations, ensuring we achieve the best possible outcomes for our members.

 

I would like to encourage all members to continue to wear a black shirt each and every Thursday until we ratify an acceptable collective agreement with Nav Canada.
