December 2023 Bargaining Update
The CANSA Bargaining Team met with Nav Canada’s representatives for the sixth round of bargaining in Toronto on December 12-14, 2023.
During this round of bargaining, we continued to exchange comprehensive offers with all monetary items important to the bargaining unit put together as one package. Nav Canada submitted counteroffers and we were able to reply with counteroffers quickly. As we continue with this next stage of bargaining, I am hopeful that we will be able to find common ground with Nav Canada and come to an agreement that meets the needs of both sides. As previously stated, all specific details surrounding bargaining proposals and comprehensive offers are confidential until a tentative agreement is reached. We will continue to provide updates throughout the bargaining process on how discussions are progressing.
The next round of bargaining is scheduled for the week of January 29th, 2024, where we will continue working to get you a collective agreement that meets the needs of all members.
Your Bargaining Team greatly appreciates your patience as we overcome the challenges ahead and bring to you the best possible agreement for ratification.
End of Year Wrap Up
As the Holiday Season approaches and we wrap up another challenging year, I would like to take the time to thank all CANSA members for your professionalism and resilience throughout this recovery period. There were many ups and downs during the past few years. You have demonstrated your value to Nav Canada by working hard throughout them, whether from home or going into work in person. As we move forward and navigate through future technology changes, I am confident that we will continue to demonstrate our value to Nav Canada and the services we provide.
The holidays can be a difficult time, if you need to reach out and talk with someone, Nav Canada has several programs with peer support and professional counselling through the Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) at 1-800-387-4765 (English) or 1-800-361-5676 (French). Enjoy the holidays with your family and friends.
I wish you and your families a safe and Happy Holiday. All the best in 2024.
In Solidarity,
James Walker
