Jeff Redmond for Winnipeg Regional Vice President

Fellow CANSA members,

For those of you who are unfamiliar, I am Jeff Redmond. I have worked together with many of you over our shared careers here with Nav Canada. I have held positions as a GT in Winnipeg tower as well as a TSS here in the center prior to my current role in ATOS. I have been a member in good standing of our union for the duration.

In my personal life I am a husband and father of two boys, one a teen and the other a young adult. I have long been a volunteer starting at 20 years old as a volunteer hockey coach. Over the last 16 years, I have coached both of my sons in multiple sports. Community service and volunteering have always been a part of my life, from running hockey tournaments to helping with my wife’s not for profit, The Kindred Project. I see this opportunity to help our union local by representing the membership as an extension to this activism.

I have 22 years of experience with Nav Canada working in various groups and unions. I believe that I am an excellent choice for RVP having work experience within both of our groups. I possess the background knowledge and understand the workplace for both OTS and ATOS. Over the years not only have classifications changed, but job descriptions and responsibilities have as well. With that in mind I would like the opportunity to represent our membership here in Winnipeg.

I am asking for your vote in the upcoming election for Regional Vice President. With your vote, you can trust that I will always work with an open and honest form of communication. I will eagerly represent our views as a local both with management and CANSA national. I firmly believe that an elected union position represents the membership, and in doing so, must express the will of all members. I believe in transparency, communicating union news and issues as soon as possible. I pledge to represent Winnipeg as a whole, while at the same time respecting our two groups individuality. As we provide vital service to Nav Canada, our diversity should also be our strength!

I would like to thank our outgoing RVP Chris Rademaker for his hard work over this last term, it has not gone unnoticed or unappreciated.

I humbly ask for your vote in the upcoming election and if elected I will fully dedicate myself to the service of our membership.

In solidarity,

Jeff Redmond
