June 2023 Bargaining Update

Bargaining for the next collective agreement has commenced. The CANSA Bargaining Team met with Nav Canada’s representatives for bargaining in Ottawa on June 27-29, 2023.

The members of the management bargaining team are:

• Michelle Griffin: Manager, Labour Relations

• Lori Smith: Manager, Labour Relations

• Karen Donovan-Bhoi: Labour Relations Advisor and Administration

• Dustin Abbott: Manager, Labour Relations Research and Portfolio Support

• Chris Bowden: Director, AIM and Flight Operations

• Dara-Lynn Wyton: Manager, ATS Learning Delivery, Winnipeg FIR

• Normand Richard: Manager, Area Control Centre Operations, Moncton ACC

• Hassan Khan: Shift Manager, Toronto ACC

• Paul Estes: Manager, Financial Services

• Viktoria Tremblay: Manager, Finance Corporate Services

There were several presentations by Nav Canada throughout the week on the Demographics of the Bargaining Unit, the Operational Training Modernization Program (OTMP), state of the Pension Plan, and current Financials of Nav Canada. Discussions were productive during this round, and we were able to agree on several non-monetary items. All specific details surrounding bargaining proposals are confidential until a tentative agreement is reached. We will provide updates throughout the bargaining process on how discussions are progressing.

The next round of bargaining is scheduled for the week of August 28 in Montreal, where we will continue working on our proposals.

Your Bargaining Team greatly appreciates your patience as we overcome the challenges ahead and bring to you the best possible agreement for ratification.

In Solidarity,

James Walker

President CANSA/Unifor 1016
